My name is Elizabeth Rattigan and I am a self-taught artist.

 

I enjoy painting rich vibrant colored paintings. I enjoy the art of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keefee, Salvador Dali, and anything Botanical.

 

My painting style is old world but also playful and unpredictable rather than serious and practical. I was able to learn how things were done hundreds of years ago and apply those skills to my present paintings. My inspiration comes from vivid and colorful periodicals, photographs, books on art, visits to various museums and Botanical paintings from the Medici period from 1434 to 1737. I will often paint other works that I see that push me forward in my goal to keep evolving as an artist while developing my own style.

 

I have a network of family and friends that encourage me along the way.
